WaterQuotes was built in Johannesburg, for Johannesburg's water reality. As municipal supply has become less reliable, homeowners face a difficult decision: spend tens of thousands of rand on backup water or a borehole, chosen from installers they've never heard of, with no easy way to compare.

We fix the comparison problem. One request on WaterQuotes goes to a maximum of three vetted installation companies serving your area. They quote you directly, you compare on your own terms, and you contract with whoever earns your business — or nobody. The service is free for homeowners; installation partners fund the platform.

We are deliberately not an installer, and we never mark up quotes or get involved in your pricing. Our only job is making sure the companies quoting you are worth your time — and that your number is never sold beyond the three you agreed to. You can read exactly how we vet installers.

Who we are

WaterQuotes is an independent, Johannesburg-based platform, built by a small local team. We started it in response to a problem we watched play out across the city: as municipal water became less reliable, ordinary homeowners were being asked to spend tens of thousands of rand on backup systems and boreholes — chosen from installers they had no real way to compare or check.

So we built the thing we wished existed: a simple way to sit on the homeowner's side of that decision and do the phoning around, vetting and comparing that most people don't have the time or the contacts to do themselves. We're new, we're local, and we're deliberately focused — Greater Johannesburg, done properly, rather than everywhere at once.
